The Ministry Wire was created in 2016 for a single purpose: to create an opportunity for younger ministers to simply write. The founders – Adam, Charles, and Mike – held to the same burden that Baptists do not write enough. This website, thus, was founded to give such an opportunity. Each Monday we post a new article, whether from our featured writers or from a guest contributor. We hope that you benefit from each article we post.
Adam John Ferguson grew up in a Christian home in Stillwater, OK. When Adam was five he heard the Gospel during Vacation Bible School. Realizing he needed to be saved, Adam believed on Christ as his Savior.
Throughout his teenage years, Adam knew that God wanted him to be in full-time ministry. After graduating high school, Adam attended Heartland Baptist Bible College. He graduated in 2015 with a degree in youth/music. After graduation, Adam moved to Sammamish, WA to join the staff of Foundation Baptist Church as Youth/Music Director. He is currently pursuing a master’s degree in music from West Coast Baptist College.
Adam is passionate about the ministry, and believes in the importance of striving to be the best you can be for the Lord. Adam is an avid reader, enjoys working out, board games, Star Wars, and loves coffee! He hopes to encourage, inspire, and challenge fellow Christians and ministry workers through his writing at the The Ministry Wire.
Kevin Michael Higginbotham grew up in a rural community in Northeastern Ohio. He grew up in a Baptist church and a ministry family, but struggled with assurance of salvation, finally nailing it down in his young adult years.
Kevin has had a love for church music, especially singing and piano, all his life, and graduated Heartland Baptist Bible College in 2015 with a Bachelors in Church Music. He then served for two years as a youth pastor of his home church in Ohio, before moving back to Oklahoma City to serve as the Music Assistant at Southwest Baptist Church and Heartland Baptist Bible College. He currently lives in OKC with his wife and son.
Kevin is a passionate writer, preacher, pianist, and singer, and believes in a high standard of excellence in church ministry. He’s a self-proclaimed math nerd, Boggle aficionado, and Dr. Pepper fan. He hopes to be a help to other young Baptist ministry workers through his writing.
